Management Development

Overloading People Managers with lengthy training courses does not work.  Claire’s flexible Management Development 101s are a series of modules covering key areas, which can be delivered in bite-sized modules or combined into one programme.

These interactive sessions involve group discussions and case studies which challenge participants to put their learning into action by practising real-life workplace scenarios.

Case Study – Management Training

The Challenge

This NHS service provider had a newly created Team Leader role within their business.  The client needed a series of easily accessible Management Workshops to ensure the newly appointment line managers had the right tools and knowledge to support them when dealing with their day to day people management responsibilities.

The client wanted a series of virtual, interactive, bite-sized programmes aimed at new managers across a variety of levels and shift patterns.

What we did

We worked in partnership with the HR Team and key leadership from across the different business areas to help them identify the areas of focus.  We designed and delivered a bespoke Management 101 programme covering keys areas such as: The Roles and Responsibilities of a Manager, HR Essentials for Managers, Absence Management and Managing Performance, Disciplinary and Grievance, Recruitment and Selection.

Sessions were delivered over a series of 3 months, with mixed groups across varying shift patterns in order to be accessible to all.  Workshops included live case studies and interactive break out activities to ensure application of practice and deeper learning.

The result

The programme has been successfully received with positive results and feedback throughout.  Team Leaders are more equipped to handle employee relations queries and challenges with minimal escalation to Senior Management.  As a result, the programme is being rolled out across the wider business and additional modules are currently being designed by Claire on Coaching, Personal Effectiveness and Communication.
